Green Suppliers Network Logo Use and Downloading Guidelines
Who can use the logo?
- The Green Suppliers Network logo may be used by Partners who have completed a Green Suppliers Network review for up to two years after the date of the final report. Any Partner who wants to continue to use the logo after the two-year point should seek permission from the Green Suppliers Network team, at Green_Suppliers@epa.gov.
- The logo may be used by Corporate Champions that have committed to engage five suppliers in the program within a one-year time frame. A Corporate Champion may use the logo for the duration of its membership.
- The logo may be used by Green Suppliers Network review team Members and their affiliated organizations, which might include Manufacturing Extension Partnership centers, state environmental agencies, and Industrial Assessment Centers. The logo may be used for as long as these organizations are delivering program services.
What does use of the logo mean?
Use of the Green Suppliers Network logo by Partners means that the Partner has joined the Green Suppliers Network and has undergone a technical review. A Partner's use of the logo does not, in any way, convey that the facility or its product(s) or service(s) have been certified or endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or by the Green Suppliers Network Program.
Use of the Green Suppliers Network logo by Corporate Champions means that the Corporate Champion has committed to engaging suppliers in the program. Use of the logo does not, in any way, convey that the Corporate Champion or its product(s) or service(s) have been certified or endorsed by the EPA or by the Green Suppliers Network Program.
How may the Green Suppliers Network logo be used?
The Green Suppliers Network logo may be used to promote participation in Green Suppliers Network program and/or to promote the Green Suppliers Network Program to other businesses. The Green Suppliers Network logo may not be used in any way that could directly or indirectly be perceived as an endorsement or support of a company's product(s) or service(s) by EPA or by the Green Suppliers Network Program.
To help prevent such confusion, the logo must be used with the following disclaimer in a clearly readable manner on all advertisements, product or service literature, or any other materials that include or promote a specific product or service:
"Use of this logo does not imply EPA endorsement."
What are some examples of approved uses of the Green Suppliers Network logo?
The Green Suppliers Network logo may be used on internal and external communications to publicize participation in the Green Suppliers Network program. Examples of internal uses include internal flyers, newsletters, and posters. External communications include advertising, press releases, annual reports, and websites. The Green Suppliers Network logo must be used in its entirety, without alterations or modifications, unless specifically allowed in writing by EPA.
What are some prohibited uses of the Green Suppliers Network logo?
The Green Suppliers Network logo may never be applied directly (as a decal, label, or in any other form) to a product or on any materials used in the packaging of such products, nor may it be used in any way that could be interpreted as a direct or implied endorsement by EPA of a product or service. Any such use will result in an immediate revocation of the organization's eligibility to use the logo.
Where can the Green Suppliers Network logo be placed?
In advertising and promotional materials, the logo should be adjacent to the company name or placed in a corner of the page or advertisement block, separated from the text and photographs of the products or services being promoted. The logo may not be placed in the body of the text or immediately next to or below a photograph or other depiction of the product or service being promoted. Logo placement is not restricted for internal company communications or materials that promote the Green Suppliers Network program that do not reference any products or services.
